Overview
When replacing a defective control board with a new one, it's essential to configure the new control board properly. This knowledge article provides a detailed step-by-step guide on how to complete the configuration process.
Preparation and Requirements
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
The 'Default/Owner' password (From the flyer that was provided with the charger, or via the Alfen Webshop for the registered Chargepoint operator only).
The Object Number (ACExxxxxxx) of the charging station (NOT the Charger ID).
A Windows-laptop with administrator rights and the firewall temporarily disabled.
The latest version of the ACE Service Installer installed.
An ethernet cable (RJ-45).
The desired Backoffice details, Power (installation), and Authorization settings.
The control board has already been replaced.
Installation, commissioning, and maintenance may only be performed by a certified electrician.
Configuration instructions
1. Connect your laptop to the charging station
Connect the ethernet cable between your laptop and UTP port on the control board.
2. Launch the ACE Service Installer
Launch the ACE Service Installer on your laptop.
Log in using your credentials (username and password for ACE Service Installer)
Click 'OK'.
3. Select the charger named 'AL1000'.
In the left-hand overview, select the charger listed as 'AL1000'.
4. Log in to 'AL1000'
A pop-up will appear prompting for a user level.
Select 'User Level': Secure Service Access.
Create and enter a password that has at least 10 characters and is a combination of letters, numbers and a special character. Make sure you save this password in a secure place.
Check the box 'Remember user level and password (for 24 hours)'.
5. Assign the correct Object Number (ACE number)
A pop-up will prompt for the Object ID (ACE number). Note, this can only be entered once!
Enter the Object ID and click 'OK'.
6. Initialize the charging station
When prompted, click 'Yes' to initialize.
The charger will automatically reboot multiple times.
Please wait until the process is fully completed.
Click on the charger in the list again (now listed with its ACE number).
Log in, using:
User level: Owner
Password: Use the same password as entered in step 4
The charger has now been restored to factory settings.
If necessary, update the following settings:
New owner password
Power settings
Active Load Balancing
Authorization
Connectivity and Backoffice
Don't forget to click 'Save' and reboot the charger after making changes.
The new control board has now been successfully linked and configured!
